We are launching this website to make the information and support, that our team provide, more accessible, and to make it easier for you to become involved in what's going on.
This, the Students' section, is intended primarily for those of you attending primary or secondary school, or the Isle of Man College. If you would like to access even more information, tailored for a parent's or carer's perspective, then you may like to check out our Parents section.
We, ‘Team Well-being’, can help you in finding the knowledge, skills and self-confidence to make healthy choices for your future, right now.
Our database of drug information is already up and running, you can use it to find out more about specific drugs, their effects, and the law.
We will keep track of upcoming events within this site, alongside topical news and articles that should help keep you up-to-date.
Presently the psst machine is going around every secondary school each term. What is the psst machine? It is an interactive drug and alcohol computer, of course, and it has had a lot of positive feedback so far! Keep an eye out here for the dates and times it will be coming to your school.
Yes, always. If you would like to talk to someone personally, sensitively, and confidentially about drugs and alcohol, feel comfortable talking to us. Don't forget, your school nurse is also available for a drop-in if you would prefer; you can normally check the times of your school's drop-in clinic on the school notice-board, or you can ask at the school office.
We have so much planned already, and we are always open to your own suggestions too.
Here are just a few things already in the pipe-line:
This year we are planning to run a number of competitions that we hope will help raise awareness and get you thinking. You may just win some prizes too, so keep checking back here so you don't miss out!
Sometimes you have a question, and even though you know you can ask us in confidence, you would prefer to ask with anonymity. We are therefore bringing you an ‘Agony Aunt’ style advice column that will allow you to post your queries, as well as being able to browse the questions and advice of others.
If you are researching for a school project, looking for advice, or just plain interested in learning more, there is a vast amount of information already online and at your fingertips. The following websites stand out to us as being well worth a visit, so we hope they make a good starting point:
